State of Secondary Education SOSE
The State of Secondary Education (SOSE) is a global collaborative created in response to a critical and long-overlooked gap: the world has no shared vision for what secondary education should deliver for young people. Across Asia, Africa and the Global North, persistent underinvestment, rigid and outdated curricula, and systems misaligned with adolescent needs have left millions of learners especially girls, rural students, and those facing poverty without meaningful pathways to opportunity.

SOSE is co-led by Transform Schools, PEAS, Global Schools Forum and Educate Girls and brings together educators, researchers, youth leaders and policymakers. Over the last year, our convenings have made one thing clear: transforming secondary education is urgent, global, and impossible for any single actor to achieve alone.
